Artist Spotlight – Eoin O’Gorman

Eoin O’Gorman graduated from Royal College of Music with a Masters in Performance in 2025 and is currently an orchestral fellow at Sinfonia Smith Square for 2025/26.

Born in Belfast, Eoin began trumpet lessons through the City of Belfast School of Music at the age of seven. After progressing through the school’s various ensembles, he joined the City of Belfast Youth Orchestra and Ulster Youth Orchestra. He went on to graduate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2023, studying with Peter Franks, John Gracie and Chris Hart. He has worked with orchestras across the UK and Ireland including the BBC Symphony and Scottish Symphony Orchestras, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Irish National Opera and National Symphony Orchestra Ireland. In 2022 he won the David James Prize for Chamber Music with the ‘Jacksons 5’ brass quintet.

As an orchestral fellow at Sinfonia Smith Square (formerly known as Southbank Sinfonia), Eoin performs regularly in and around London as well as participating in various educational projects ranging from early years to side-by-side work with teenagers. He is also a tutor at North London Music School.
